Gluten free vegan double chocolate waffles


INGREDIENTS (3 waffles)

  • 1 tbs ground flexseeds
  • 3 tbs water
  • 50 gr brown rice flour
  • 50 gr quinoa flour
  • 20 gr potato starch
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 30 gr sugar
  • 100 gr veg milk
  • 1 tbs sunflower seed oil
  • dark choco chips

Hi sweeties and welcome back!
I took some time off the blog to enjoy my days off work with my sweetheart, who was back in town for a couple weeks before leaving again for work … LE SIGH!!! But we had a great and relaxing time, basically sleeping, eating and sunbathing at the pool or at the beach, desperately trying to get some colour on our milk white skin..

Alright, enough with tourism promotion, let’s get to today’s yummy recipe.
It’s pretty simple, first things first, preheat your waffle iron and in the meanwhile just whisk together all the ingredients. Before pouring the batter on the iron, remember to grease it with some seed or coconut oil, so that the waffles won’t stick. Something I never forget to do of course. Yeah right.
Anyway, you pour some batter in the middle of each iron (not too much, because it will “expand”) and let it bake a good 5-7 minutes. Once ready, they are great for breakfast with a coffee or fruit juice, but they’re at their best with someicecream to the side! <3
On a side note: if you don’t have a waffle iron, the batter will make great pancakes too 😉
